You’re in luck, because we’re detailing our design process.
A foundation is necessary for any great piece. Our heavy weight crewnecks are 450 grams per square meter, and regular weights are 430 grams per square meter, allowing for a durable and long-lasting product. Our clothing is 80 percent cotton with 20 percent poly blend and french terry cotton to create a relaxed and comfortable fit. Crew Dog designers meticulously embroider our hand-drawn artwork—from collegiate mascots to custom order designs—directly onto our clothing, using over 50,000 stitches for a detailed look. We use premium Italian fabrics and manufacture in the United States.
The custom order process is streamlined but thorough. Share your vision with us, and offer feedback to alter the design at any step of the way. If you’re unsure what design would best suit your group, our designers are creative experts, and can whip up a variety of possibilities. After deciding on a sketch, groups see full mockups of the item before placing an order.
Our design-team hand draws, which means that each group receives a unique design that’s truly one-of-a-kind. We strive to capture what makes each group distinctive instead of simply using the same kinds of designs for similar groups. A design for a debate team at one school may look completely different than one at another. Even clubs at the same school vary depending on their histories and characteristics. After all, we’re telling stories, shedding light on what makes our affiliations special.
We pride ourselves on being customizable, from the range of existing designs at each school (from artsy to sporty) to the choice of pocket square versus center design placement, to initials if gifting for an occasion or a significant other. Our clothing itself is incredibly versatile because of how it's made—the fabrics and make described above are intended to be worn in many contexts. You can wear Crew Dog to class, then to the gym. To dinner, then a party. To a late night study session, then to bed.
