Ars longa, vitae brevis
“ARS LONGA, VITAE BREVIS”: a latin translation of a phrase from the Hippocratic Oath (an oath all physicians take when they graduate medical school to do no harm, and to the best of their abilities seek to care for the sick).
This phrase translates to “the art is long, life is short” hinting at the importance of art in our lives, and to a greater extent, remind us all that there is art in medicine and to never lose sight of that.
